Curing

Professional cable curing is included at no additional charge. Yes = please cure my cable for the recommended 200 hours before shipping. No = please send my cable as soon as it is built.

Takshaka Digital SPDIF Cable

The Takshaka Digital SPDIF cable was built from the ground up to preserve timing accuracy and protect the integrity of the digital signal.

We took the lessons learned from designing our award-winning Boomslang cable and combined them with solid foundational coaxial knowledge to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

It is not coaxial. It is not parallel. It is Takshaka.

The Hanging Faraday® shielding protects the signal path and helps create an exceptionally black background.

The result is improved timing stability, strong image placement, and an incredibly wide open presentation that remains musical and composed.

Precise. Controlled. Immersive.

Why 1.37 Meters Matters

For more than a decade I have maintained that 1.37 meters is the minimum effective length for SPDIF and AES digital cables. This is physics, not marketing.

At shorter lengths, reflections caused by real-world impedance mismatch can return during the receiver’s vulnerable timing window and raise jitter. By setting a minimum length of 1.37 meters, the first reflection is pushed outside that critical window in most real systems.

Hanging Faraday® Shielding

Many conventional shielded cable designs tie the shield into the signal circuit at both ends. While common, that approach can raise return-side capacitance and alter impedance behavior.

I compare this to walking down the sidewalk to the store, then having to slog through a swamp on the way home. The trips are not equal. The path is imbalanced. That imbalance can create problems.

My Hanging Faraday® instead isolates the shield electrically while still enclosing the conductors, functioning like a Faraday cage that blocks external interference without loading the transmission path.

The effects of our Hanging Faraday shielding aren’t just opined. The following images were taken at our booth at an audio show with many people watching the demonstration, observing the test conditions in real time, and even providing the comparison cables.

Direct Comparison: Shielding Effectiveness

Real-world oscilloscope results clearly demonstrate the power of our proprietary
Hanging Faraday® shielding. Test performed in front of a live audience at a trade show,
using a random cable brought up by an audience member:

Result: Over 10dB noise reduction achieved using Hanging Faraday shielding — delivering cleaner power, lower noise floor, and enhanced audio resolution.

Built by hand, by someone who gives a damn. From my shop in Idaho, straight to your system.

Built by Hand, One at a Time

At Snake River Audio, nothing is mass-produced. Every Snake River Audio cable is custom-built from the bare wire, raw materials per order. No shortcuts. No outsourcing. Just real craftsmanship, by me and my team, one cable at a time.

30-Day Trial. In Your System, On Your Terms

30 day in-home trial

I get it, you need (and should) hear it in your room, not some showroom or hotel suite at an audio show. That’s why we offer a 30-day risk-free trial. If you're not blown away, return the cable in like-new condition and get a full refund, (minus shipping and processing fees). Read more details about our return policy here.

Less than 3% of our cables are ever returned. In fact, over 40% of our customers come back for more. That says more than I ever could.

Lead Time & Curing

Once your order is in, it goes into the build queue. Refer to the Build Queue indicator on our website for the current turnaround time. Once its turn comes up, we’ll hand-craft your cable and, unless you opt out, run it through a 200-hour curing process before shipping. That means it’s almost fully cured, or "burned in" and ready to perform the moment it hits your system. A little bit of settling time is always suggested, but for the most part, they're ready to go!

Build queue is typically about 8–10 business days, and including curing, most orders ship in about three weeks. But please refer to the Build Queue Indicator for up-to-date reference.

You’ll get automatic email updates from the website throughout the process, including tracking once it ships. If you don't see them, check your "spam" folder. Be sure to mark these emails as "not spam" to ensure future updates.

Trade-In Program

Got a Snake River Audio cable you want to upgrade from? Let’s make it easy.

We can accept genuine Snake River Audio cables for trade-in. Just contact us first at SnakeRiverAudio@gmail.com. Once received, we’ll evaluate it based on condition, age, and type, and assign a fair trade-in value, usually 50–75% of original retail.

We list used cables at near break-even, so your trade-in value will reflect actual resale (minus payment and shipping fees.)

I am currently working on a process/partnership to be able to accept non-SRA cables as trade-ins. If you have cables that you don't need any more, even other brands, email and let me know what you've got. I'll need make, model, brand, length, terminations, age (if known), and a couple of pictures to be able to give you a close estimated trade-in value.

Please note: During sale periods, trade-ins are discretionary and handled case-by-case.
